I understand that the application in the video is very specific, so what other instances could this software potentially help the CAD user?

It doesn't take that long really to place a sketch and extrude it, so in applications where the user needs to make a couple unique holes and move on this does not seem very helpful, but if the company makes a lot of similar parts with nominal sizes, then the predictive tool could prove useful even if it only saves a few minutes (assuming the predictive model will continue to improve catering towards the user/company that utilizes it). But again, if the user is inly interested in nominal sizes then it probably is not going to save to that much time.

I would like to see some other practical examples outside of the hole creation application, like perhaps the ability to create bodies based on previous designs but scaled to the current project. I.e., something that can maybe save a few minutes instead of a couple seconds -if the program predicts correctly.

I think the question itself is interesting. As for my own opinion, I see an immediate danger in relying on the simple automation. I am not an mechanical engineer, but I would imagine placing a hole in the flange (taking the example from video) requires certain knowledge of material, application, codes, etc. Simply the fact that the hole was used by the company before that, does not guarantee safety and reliability of the new product. In electrical engineering world, all decent CAD tools have high degree of automation, but our company prefers manual layout to ensure design quality. Using design automation requires immense amount of labor setting limits, rules, parameters, etc. For some large companies it might work, though. Or, for repeating projects. Again, the question is interesting, I see it as more philosophical than technical.

I think it`s a good research and helpful for 3d modelers and working team , my opinion is that the tool would be more relevant if would can predicts mathematical rules of manufacturing as the tolerance of the embed pieces and how its works with different materials and technologies. so usually when people are modeling is to create something new and not something that is already on the market.
