Hi,
I have just started using snapgene and have downloaded a plasmid sequence off addgene to have a play with.
Addgene says a gene is under control of a KasOp promoter, but when I insert the plasmid sequence into snapgene I dont know how to find the promoter sequence?
Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing?

Snapgene usually highlights the entire promoter region (including upstream and downstream portions of the RNAP binding site). Thus if you are looking for key promoter sequences, then you'll need to search for it in the literature and add those specific features to your plasmid map. However, if snapgene does not automatically highlight the promoter region, then it's probably not in their sequence database. I find reloading the sequence file resolves these issues sometimes, but you'll probably have to do a sequence search for the promoter and manually input the feature
