Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this before?

I have been doing a time-course of glycopeptide antibiotic yield from liquid culture of actinomycetes to determine the concentration via LCMS. The supernatant from the culture is taken daily to asses yield.

However, I am seeing a pattern that the concentration decreases as time goes on? I would expect it to increase to a certain point and then slowly decrease, but I am seeing a high concentration to start with that decreases almost by half per day, until it is no longer detectable by Day 11.

Any ideas why this might occur?

Thanks!
