Check the Agilent and Waters websites. You need a 'fatty acid column'. Since RID is very 'insensitive' (% only) the sample matrix can only be an oil.

Remember, with an RI detector you are limited to isocratic separations only.

I would think 'normal phase' too, since fatty acids are nonpolar (don't like water).
