By using transition SST model to predict transition position, the value of intermittency must be given at inlet and outlet. The default value of the intermittency at inlet is 1. However, I noticed an answer on cfd-online (https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/fluent/91036-transition-sst-intermittency-tu-decay-y.html) about varying intermittency from 0 to 1 at inlet and got different lift and drag performance. Thus he suggested the intermittency should be tuned to a small value for delaying transition. He also mentioned his conclusion is conflicted with Suluksna's paper, which suggested the intermittency at inlet should be equal to 1.

Does any one can give any explanation or suggestion about what is the best value of intermittency for simulating low Re airfoil performance and transition?

Best regards
