I am struggling to find an option to truncate my long gap-free .abf (pClamp/Clampfit) record into one smaller to save only the region of interest and save the disk space ...
how to truncate the length of .abf record in postprocessing?
In clampfit you can mark the region of interest with cursors (summon cursors 1 and 2 by pressing shift+1 and shift+2), then go File -> Save As. A window should pop up where you select the path where new file, containing only your region of interest should be saved. In Options you have to mark Data Range to Save as Between cursors 1 and 2, and choose the option that suits you in Data Selection part. Also if you need a specific type of .abf file (e.g. for use in other software) you can choose that also in the window below filename window. After you save your new file you can delete the previous one if indeed it is obsolete to you.
