I am simulating sensorless control of PMSM. I am giving constant theta at the starting time but my motor is not starting, what could be possible reasons?
the key for your interest is to use FOC field oriented control which enables you to control your permanent magnet synchronous motor without using sensor. you can google on "control PMSM using FOC" you will find hundreds of paper and model for this. I hope my little answer helps you.
You should assume that the initial angle is zero and then the angle will be calculated from the PMSM mechanical model. See my papers for more details about the PMSM model and control.
I am simulating sensorless control of PMSM therefore i need to start motor in open to generate back emf after that i can switch over to sensorless angle and speed. To be more clear about my question: how to start motor in open loop ?
