I'm a mechanical engineer. I'm interested in learning about optimization methods and how we can implement them in a problem.
I want to apply one of them in structural to increase rigidity to mass ratio and composite materials to determine the suitable number of stakes to increase strength to weight ratio.

I would start reading about the Humies in GECCO as well as Koza's book related to human-competitive results.
To the best of my knowledge, this area of research has yet to be applied.
