Has anyone successfully blotted both liver and muscle actin in chicken with a single antibody on a Western?
We have purchased two antibodies for actin from MBL and from Santa Cruz. The MBL antibody recognizes chicken liver actin but not muscle actin. The SC antibody recognizes chicken muscle actin but not liver actin (at least not as well). We tried a third antibody that was borrowed from another lab and it also mainly recognizes the liver actin.
Can we use the MBL as loading control for the liver samples and the SC as loading control for the muscle samples?
We have also tried out an SC GAPDH antibody and it works better on muscle than liver as well.
If anyone else has had issues with antibodies recognizing the same protein from different tissues, please let me know how you remedied it. Thanks
