Dear Community,

I recently switched from ANSYS Mechanical to COMSOL Multiphysics. So far I was able to transfer my models to the new platform but I yet miss one feature of ANSYS in COMSOL. I hope someone is able to help me out.

What I am talking about is the ability to "couple" (Ansys term) nodal degrees of freedom. In my case this would mean that the displacement of any node in a set of nodes (a surface for instant) is equal and not predefined. We are using this feature to model one eigth of an pseudo-infinitesimal cube of material. Three surfaces of the cube are subject to classical mirror symmetry and the opposite surfaces stay parallel to allow for volume change. The x-y-surfaces are subject to u_z(x0) = 0 and u_z(x_n) = coupled.

In Ansys, this feature is available as the APDL command "CP". It is not available in the GUI. I need this feature primarily for the solid mechanics solver of COMSOL. If anyone knows the name of this feature in COMSOL or can recommend a workaround please feel free to answer.

Thank you very much,
