Earthquakes are now causing fear and unstability in most iraqi and jordanion citizens who live in big building ,How can we secure building and check the standards of constructions?
1. Seismic hazard maps must be drawn up.
These maps will show the probability of an earthquake occurring with the corresponding excess intensity (in units of acceleration or ground velocity).
2. In cities where buildings and structures are located, it is advisable to carry out seismic microzoning. This will also take into account the properties of the soil.
3. It is necessary to have a national standard, which will give recommendations on the calculation of seismic effects. The national standard should be a law that no one should break.
