How to represent milligrams (mg) in International Units (IU) for collagenase type IV?

Hello everyone,

I've 16mg collagenase type IV, I want represent the unit in IU (International Units). Did anyone know how to convert mg to IU? Is there any other units to represent enzyme activity other than IU? If so what is the conversion factor for that?

It will be mentioned on the collagenase IV specification sheet as xxUnits/mg. Using the concentration mentioned by the manufacturer, you can convert the 16mg into International units. The basic idea is that the activity of enzyme is not similar to the amount of enzyme added. The international unit represents the active enzyme per milligram of the potien.
