Hi, I have performed an Annexin V apoptosis study using flow cytometry and got quite good results. I doubt how to represent the quadrant percentages in the final bar graphs. Some papers only show the early phase and late phase apoptosis data, whereas some paper show viable cell percentage too. Dead cell percentage is not required? It will be helpful if someone can answer or share a paper with proper data representation. Thank you so much for your attention and participation.
For the presentation of Annexin V staining data for apoptosis assay, normally the reading of cell counts in the quandrant of early apoptotic is displayed in statistic graphs as height of column with error bar. The assay is performed by double staining of DNA dye of propidium iodide (PI) for fragmented genomic DNA, and Annexin V for phosphatidylserine (PS) which is exposed to outer membrane on apoptosis triggering. The population of low PI and high annexin V in the quandrant Q3 is defined as early or typical apoptosis, the yielded numbers are processed and presented in manuscript.
