I have done several analyses for the academic and socio-economic sector such as the quantification of acrylamide in coffee
generally when using the MRM mode there is no problem
but the academic sector always asks for the scan mode for its samples, the latter are plant extracts
on my side I made the delutions and the filtration before the injection
so the extracts of plant I found that all the samples have the same TIC in scan mode, and in MRM mode always there is the 5-Acetylsalicylic acid with great intensity, knowing that their molar mass is 180 so m/z of this last 181 in positive mode
so I think that the contamination becomes from Acetylsalicylic acid
what I use is the gradient mode and m/z 181 always present
for maintenance I do it every week cleaning the ESI source and the DL desolvation line
but for the capillary I never cleaned it, I don't have the experience
if you have a video how to clean the capillary it will be good
