I would like to mix the nanosilica with the epoxy resin using an ultrasonic mixer. To reduce the viscosity of the resin, I plan to dilute it with acetone. What would be the simplest way to get rid of the solvent from the mixture after finishing mixing?
There is a simplest way to mix epoxy with nanosilica without the use of solvent. In order to achieve good mixing state between epoxy and nanosilica, you can use magnetic stirring method under applied heat (60 degree celcius). Under applied heat, the viscosity of epoxy resin will reduced and dispersion of nanosilica indeed very easy.
You can heat them so the acetone evaporates. I do organic-inorganic nanofibers where I use dmac and acetone. Heat them up to 60 for 24 hours is working fine.

Adding solvent is not a best option to reduce the viscosity of the epoxy resin, the presence of acetone can degrade the properties of the resin. A good way to achieve a good dispersion of the nanosilica in a polymer matrix is to raise the temperature up to 60 °C.

You can also try reactive diluents for epoxy resins. However this could change the mechanical properties of the cured epoxy, so it depends on your application.
