The variation between isolates is likely to have arisen from genetic differences between them, which may contribute to mycotoxin production. Because some isolates may lack the gene require’s for mycotoxin production. However, a species or a strain may posses the gene and appropriate enzymes needed for the production of particular mycotoxins, but for some reason , the toxins are not formed in any substantial amount under lab and field condition.
