Hi professors, I'm building an interferometer and I need to make adjustments of 0.25 or even smaller resolution. To be specific I need an actuator or something like that to help move 1 of my mirrors by 0.25 um so that 1 bright fringe can shift to the next one. As far as I know normal actuators cannot reach such a resolution; they cannot move that precisely. Is there any way to control an actuator with such a resolution or is there a suitable type of actuators that may help? Thank you.
