These types of questions are asked at the beginning. So someone has to specialize one area and prepar it properly. Because there will be further questions and the candidate must be prepared well to answer questions related to the area of interest.
Similarly, prepare questions on your thesis and published papers.

Make sure that you have memorized some of the salient features of your publications so that when asked you can give them convincing answers and explanations. Be prepared to answer scenario type questions, for example, (1) what would you do if you find out that one of your graduate students is cooking up answers rather than honestly collecting them, (2) What do you want to be in 5 years from now, 10 years from now, etc., (3) how much time do you want to devote to research vs. teaching? In turn be prepared to ask the interviewer questions such as about the tenure process, funding opportunities for research including university provided funding for beginning professors, etc. Be honest and do not exaggerate and be sincere with your answers, goals and ambitions.
For any interview one should be fully prepared for the presentation as the question may be asked to know the progress of the candidate which interviewer may justify his stand for selecting the candidate concerned .

One should be prepared to teach something at the time of interview. The candidate might be asked to teach one of the portions which he or she is comfortable with. And there will be random questions from the interviewer panel on that topic.
I personally have seen guys failing to write Maxwell's equations in Electrodynamics despite of having a Ph.D. in Theoretical High Energy Physics. This kind of things should never happen.
I think you must be ready to answer real life scenarios related to solving basic academic or societal problems that stems commoners or country at large.
