A cylinder containing oxygen is enclosed in a steel container filled with with air. I've modeled the system under consideration in space claim. When assigning material to the fluid domains in CFX and I assign material oxygen to domain oxygen. When I assign material air to the domain air, it automatically changed the material of domain oxygen to material air. When I correct it by changing the material to oxygen, it changes the material of domain air to material oxygen. It look like these two fluids are interconnected and changing material of one domain updates the material other fluid domain itself. Can anybody explain reason and solution of the problem?
First make two different materials as per their properties, name them air and oxygen. Now define two different domains, name them as steel container and oxygen cylinder. After defining this domain you can select the appropriate material for the domain through material tab. I have tried your case and i am running with no errors.
Yes Abid.. You have to define two domain for container and cylinder. Oxygen and air are materials so create them from material tab. After doing it, you have two domains and two materials. Select the domain let say cylinder, make it fluid and select the appropriate material from the materials drop down list.
Okay let me check. I'm using CFX and I don't see any material tab in it. When I create domain, say cylinder, I have to give it's material in the drop down list of materials in define new domain palette. Can you share some tutorial of it?
In my setup, I've modeled four solids, cylinder, container, air and oxygen. Then I define domains and assign each domain it's material.
I'm unable to find material tab, can you share screenshot or something which help me understand?
I've retooled your email. I've seen that you defined oxygen and air but assigned oxygen material to cylinder and air material to container whereas what I think may be done is different. Cylinder may be given material SS as it is made of SS and container to be given CS as material.
I've modeled oxygen separately inside the cylinder and modeled air separately surrounding the cylinder. Then container contained all these materials i.e. SS cylinder, oxygen and air.
