I am working on POI data using nighttime lights image. I have tried different methods to open it but could not? Kindly give me some recommendations to open it.

What is the File format/type you have downloaded
VIIRS DNB Nighttime Lights image..
s.L. Borana these are screenshots. I have downloaded different images but all have same file type which is not specific. It has no file type like hdf5,h5,tiff ettc. just showing file. you can see from screenshorts.

s.L. Borana I have downloaded monthly as well as annually image from this link but still could not open even other images like landsat etc are opened.
your image has tif format but my image don't have any format.

I had a similar problem. then understand that I should extract .tgz file with some software like e7z: http://www.e7z.org
But when I open tiff file I can not see lights and it is some thing like cloudy sky (as in picture below). what should I do to see the file like your images s.L. Borana ?
