I am simulating 4-point bending of simple timber beam. It 3-D model which contains 2 parts: timber beam and pins (3D, solid, deformable). Loading is deflection applied on pins. I need to find out value of ultimate force under applied deflection. I set up H - output for set of point under the pin but it shows me really weird results. RF=0, so I tried HO for CF, but value of this force is too small. Basically, I need to know how to set up H-output when I want to know value of ultimate force under deflection. Pins and beam are connected thru ”tie” constraint. Any idea how to get this value, please?

Not sure how exactly you modeled. If you load the beam directly using the displacement incrementally and some plastic properties for the beam material, plot the deflection load vs. reaction force at the supported end of the beam. Asymptotic value of the reaction will be proportional to the ultimate or limit load.

as I understood, you are trying to get the ultimate load of a simple beam under four point loads. One of your support have to be a pin and the other is a roller. Instead of using displacement control you can use modified risk method under step. Then apply arbitrary value of concentrated loads on your beam. Using this procedures will not only provide the ultimate load, but also you can get the post ultimate load behavior , I.e. Unloading behavior. To plot the load displacement curve. Just request cf and u for output.
