Dear Scientists, I am going to disperse Al2O3 with synthetic oil (hydrophobic). Therefore how to modify Al2O3's surface to it stable in the lubricant? thank you very much. Best regards, Agus.
depending on the chemistry of your synthetic lubricant, it should help to react some adhesion promoting material with the aluminium oxide. For choosing, I recommend the brilliant brochres on silane surface modification and silane coupling agents by Gelest. This company is selling these materials.
Thank you for your advice, I am thinking doing that too by adding silane coupling agents, but I believe there are plenty silane-based in the market and I don't know exactly which one that I must purchase. Hope to hear from you again.
