I have created a model of “Plate with Hole” using Abaqus as shown in attached figure. There are 2 regions in the plate. First one is green region in which the position of hole will be changing and second one is blue region. As position of hole will be changing the mesh will be changing too every time in green region. So I want to know how to mesh the plate so that in green region mesh will be varying according to hole position but in blue region the mesh should remain fix irrespective of hole position in green region.
This is very simple geometry. Meshing is an art, use your imagination. There are tons of mesh pattern for such kind of problem available online
Put seeds on the boundary between green and blue. Then move the hole using the part->Edit options; this should leave the seeds unchanged. Then the mesh in the blue region should remain fixed.
Alternatvely, define the two regions as parts and tie them together.
Yes, you need to use a constant numer of seeds on the boundary between green and blue region.
