I am trying to develop the flow meter using PZT sensors based on Time of flight measurement approach. I have couple of questions regarding that as follows.
1) Which method to select for mounting the sensors? V, W or Z method? How to decide the method?
2) I have a disk shape PZT of 2MHz frequency. I have seen sensors mounted at an angle of 45 degrees inside a sensor housing. Is it mandatory to have that angle and housing? If yes then how can I build that housing and set my sensors at 45 degrees?

You only need the wedge if you are doing doppler measurements. Otherwise you need 2 sensors and the (accurate) distance between them. And you will need bubbles or particles of some kind to reflect or all you will measure is the distance to the opposite side of the pipe.
