In the first phase of my research, I conducted interviews with 20 faculty members to explore the key attributes that an effective leader should exhibit.. Based on these interviews, I identified a list of 50 leadership attributes, then I developed a questionnaire using a 7-point Likert scale to assess current leadership practices among faculty members. Through exploratory factor analysis, I identified five main components. As this is an exploratory study, I have not formulated specific hypotheses.

The main aim of the research is to assess leadership effectiveness through variables such as competence, effective leadership, empowerment, and decision-making (DV) . I intend to explore the relationships between these variables (leadership effectiveness) and the five components derived from factor analysis (IDV).

Given your expertise in this area, I would be grateful for your guidance on the following questions:

  • What are the appropriate measures that can be used to assess leadership effectiveness in this study?
  • Which theoretical model(s) of leadership effectiveness might best to explain the constructs I am working with?
  • How can I examine the relationship between the contextual factors (IDV) and leadership effectiveness (competence, effective leadership, empowerment, and decision-making )?
  • Is it possible to take the average (mean) of these variables, OR the five components (50 items) as leadership effectiveness (DV).
  • Do I need to create hypotheses to make this test, or can I use correlation and regression between DV and IDV?
  • I appreciate that anyone has the time to go through this long question.

    Thanks a lot
