i want to develop tumor in normal mouse for my experiment by using human cancer cell lines. for this i want to compromise the immune system of the mouse, so what are the possible methods by which i can make the mouse immunocompromised..
I think you should use genetically immunodeficient mice (nude mice). Otherwise you can accomplish immunosuppression with Cyclosporin B, or rapalogs (rapamicine, everolimus, etc) or the best thing is using both.
But you will meet a problem: using immunodepressors it will also modify the evolution and behavior of the tumor cells you want to study. This takes us back to square one: use nude mice (squid).
Agree with Birenda. Using chemicals to suppress the immune system always present a problem as you cannot be sure of the effects of this on the cancer cells that you want to inject into the animal. Best is to use nude mice.
first of all i would like to thanks to Mr. Tomas and Mr. Edmund for kind suggestion. actually i would like to develop orthotopic tumor in lung of animal (e.g. mice) through tracheal route by using human lung cancer cell line (e.g A549) in normal mice by using some immunosuppressive medicine and compare with nude mice.... As Mr. Tomas has suggested use of Cyclosporin B, so what is the standard dose, can you please share it....
