I need to make a zinc chloride solution of density 2.0 for Pollen separation in sediments. I have the zinc chloride in powder form in a 500g box. Any help for chemist and those who use this method to separate pollen from other minerals will be very well appreciated.
Just place a glass-measuring tube on a weight then press tare. Put zinc chloride the read the weight and volume and calculate density (W/V). We can adjust the density by adding water or adding zinc chloride powder.
Just dissolve 500g of zinc chloride powder in 160 ml of distilled water to prepare a supersatured solution of zinc cholride with density equals to 2.0. Good luck!
