Greetings,

In my new paper, I used fungal strains from my previous study, however if i cite the source of the strains as (authors, year), the reviewers can easily find the identity of the authors just by searching the names of the fungal strains.

Rather than citing the source of the strains as (authors, year), what if I write "the strains were provided by" and I cite my previous paper? the reason for doing so will also be explained in the cover letter.
