How to locate gene of intrest in operon when you have genome fasta?

I want to locate gene in my genomic dna sequence in order to find out the operon in which it lies.

How to do this?

Abhijeet Singh

Find the gene (text based search) if annotated or annotate the genome first and then search.
Or, do a homology analysis and locate the gene.
Validate if it is in your operon by up- and downstream sequence analysis.
