For two phase slug flow in vertical pipes, dimensionless parameters such as; Froude number, Eotvos number, and inverse viscosity numbers can greatly affects the hydrodynamic characteristics of two-phase flow.
My question i show can i use CFD FLUENT approach to investigate and examine these dimensionless groups for the two-phase flow patterns predictions
Is there any suggestion please.
Since there is a no direct way to introduce these dimensionless numbers in FLUENT, what probably would be meaningful to do is to fix these numbers and then back-calculate the geometrical/physical properties/flow parameters.
For example, for a bubble of diameter d rising with velocity V, Froude no. is given as Fr = V2/(gd). Here, Fr can be set to a number N and then either velocity or diameter of the bubble can be changed accordingly. Also, the "g" parameter can be changed suitably to obtain the different Fr number for same "d" and "v".
You can use a parametric simulation where values for geometry and phisics can be set outside Ansys component. So, you can get dimensionles numbers requiered.
