Hi, I am encapsulating essential oils in silica mesoporous nanocapsules. I performed a TGA just with the essential oil and another one for the silica nanocapsules loaded with the oil. I identified the peak associated to oil degradation around T=300°C in the TGA for the oil, however, when I did the TGA for the nanocapsules loaded with the oil the temperature shifted 10°C higher. Can the encapsulation be somehow related to this phenomenon? if so, do you have an idea how? could it be a problem associated with the procedure?

Conditions:

100mL/min N2

Tramp= 10°C/min

Ti=25°C

Tf=800°C

Thanks for your help!
