Hi!
I am using SPSS chart builder to do grouped scatter plots. In the first scatter, I have two groups on the x-axis. I want to add a line of median to each group for better comparison. How can I do this? I am using SPSS version 26.
Additionally, I´d like to know if it is possible to have multiple variables on the x-axis?

Hi Hanna,
I'm not really clear on what you're after. Typically you would use a scatterplot to plot x (scale variable) against y (scale variable), and then you could colour the points based on a grouping variable (with added fit lines, if desired). This is easily done in SPSS using the chart-builder tool. However it sounds like you want to plot all of the values of y for each group, and then add a median line to each group on the x axis? This is fiddly but possible in SPSS (although I don't know if you can have multiple variables on the x-axis)...but wouldn't a simple box plot be better for describing your data?

Hi,
I solved the problem by adding an element row in syntax. Syntax is opened by creating your graph and then open chart builder again but instead of OK, press paste.
In syntax, enter;
Element: point.jitter(position(Variablename1*variablename2))
Element: interval(position(region.spread.range(summary.median(Variablename1*Variablename2))),shape(shape.ibeam)).
You don´t have to add ".jitter" to the first element-row but it looks nice.
Any tips on how to do this but with multiple variables would be very much appreciated!
