We use zinc salts that dissolve well in water such as zinc sulphate monohydrate in the production of compound fertilizers. Although we lower the pH, the solubility of zinc salt, which has a very good solubility in water, in the fertilizer solution decreases dramatically. I need your advice to avoid this.
Have you taken care that while dissolving , the resultant sltuion doesnt turn into a saturated solution...
Anoop Kumar Srivastava @ . Thank you for your comment. Yes. a saturated solution does not form. actually I think the issue is all about the electronegativity of zinc. Because even if the pH of the environment is acidic to help dissolve, this has little effect on the solubility of zinc. I would be glad if you can develop a comment on this.
Phosphate containing zinc fertilizers are generally treated as controlled release compound fertilizers. These are not easily soluble with water. Phosphorus makes a complex form with the metal zinc and it prevails for a long time, that's why it will not be soluble easily if comes in contact with water. However, it should better to wait or to give time for its natural dissociation in soil which will also be beneficial for environment.
