I have a question about something in SPSS that I need to answer for my master's thesis.
I have a full dataset with many different information about more than one thousand firms in Turkey. I'm testing the effect of the business climate on firm operations and I want to include firm-fixed effects as a control variable in my linear regression model.
Each firm has only one person answering the different questions (either Top Manager or some kind of Supervisor). But I need to include fixed-effects to remove any bias across the firms since they would definitely have different characteristics. I have already included industry and region effects, but I need to include the fixed effects of the firms.
Does anyone know how I can do that on SPSS or how I can calculate such a thing? I've read about it in many papers but none mentioned how to actually calculate it.
I would appreciate any input on this. Thank you.
Your questionaire should include items that identify branch effects. I do not understand clearly enough, what You mean with "fixed effects". The item analysis of the pretest of your battery of question should have condensed the number of Your varying questions by the factor 1/10.

Hi. I think that the best way to consider this effect is the multilevel model which could not carry out in SPSS.
