Therefore for may (pseudo) scientific publication is simply a business. One is supposed to pay about a monthly salary of mine for having a paper published. Someone has to pay the costs of quality publications anyhow. It can be the author, the reader or the institution (e.g. from grants). It will hurt someone.

Well, one possible way is to chechk whether thay have an impact factor or not.

Many of the journal claim to have one but they don't. It is better to look at the official website.

Today, while searching more on this issue, I also came across an interesting article via Nature publised on 3rd May 2018, that "University Grants Commission (UGC) in India, which funds and oversees higher-education has removed 4,305 spurious journals from a list of some 30,000 publications used for weighing academic performance" [1, 2]

There are many demands sent by e-mail to write for a journal - normally you can unsubsribe them, but there exists also a spam box in your system. If you are convinced you can deliver an article of good quality choose one of the "normal" and well-known journals of your discipline.

First, see if they are indexed in any database and if they have impact factor, then open their website and check out their publication history if any. Finally, if you get emails stating that they are in need of your valuable expertise in... from someone that you never heard of , or that they will give you a waiver or publish within a week, know that they are predatory.

My advice would be that any journal or publisher offering to help you publish something that you have already published for a "minimal cost" is best blocked from all channels of communication as efficiently ad possible.
