I am trying to simulate contact between Polyurethane Disk Pig and the inside of a Steel Pipe in order to measure the frictional force experienced by the disk. The model that I use is Axisymmetric 2D. The problem that I constantly face is that the disk penetrates the thickness of the steel pipe even though the contact between the two is defined as Frictional with a friction coefficient of 0.4
Any suggestions to solve this problem? Attached is the screenshot of the penetration and its corresponding Ansys project file.
Interesting... Please share me the final answer...
1). Near the contact remesh both of bodies to about 0.0002 mm;
2). In settings of frictional contact swap contact and target (contact body should be harder than target).
3). In the model you have a gap between bodies, so contact status = open at start of calculation, plus first step is too large, so Ansys don't see contact. Use Autotime stepping=on, initial substeps=1000, then after first substep contact status = close.
