If you only have the recombination data for A and B (with RF=50) then you can not determine whether they are on same chromosome but far apart or different chromosomes.
However if you start looking at other markers if they are between A and B on the same chromosome you can begin to generate linkage maps and show whether A and B are in fact on the same chromosome (or not) because they are linked to the other markers.
Obviously physical methods or genome sequencing would let you determine as well, if in fact you know what A and B are.
If all you know is the RF you can't tell the difference between different chromosomes and very far apart on the same chromosome.

Besides what other suggested like linkage mapping, sequencing etc., you can also try doing test cross between double heterozygous parent (AaBb) and homozygous recessive parent (aabb).If the progeny ratio of AaBb, Aabb, aaBb, and aabb is 1:1:1:1; Then, these two genes are on the two different chromosomes (not showing linkage).
In contrast, if the two genes are on the same chromosome, a test-cross between the double heterozygous parent (AaBb) and a homozygous recessive parent (aabb) will produce progeny with a non-Mendelian ratio.
Keep in mind that two genes very far apart on the same chromosome will assort independently. So the test-cross could still produce the predicted Mendelian ratio.
