What you mean by 'micronuclei'? if you mean nucleated red cells, so any Romanowsky stain could help you. Leishman stain is pretty good and the morphology will help you to differentiate the nucleated RBCs from all other nucleated cells by the characteristics morphological features. For Leishman staining technique you need first to apply the stain for about 2-5 minutes until it partially dry (avoid moderate to severe drying) then add double volume distilled water and wait for 10-20 min.s according to the strength of the Leishman stain, then wash thoroughly with tab water and leave to dry.
Either you mean nuclated red blood cells(N-RBC) or Howell-Jolly bodies-HJB(remanants of DNA) both will be easily identified in any routinely stained peripheral blood smear(PBS).
You need to stain the slides with May-Gruenwald-Giemsa at Ph 6.8. This will enable differentiation of PCE's from NCE's as well as facilitates identification of MN. Refer to the article below:
