I did not understand your question clearly. But, if you are looking for answers related to taking xy plots from Abaqus to excel, you can use either options:

1. Go to Visualization module> create an XY plot>Report-> XY

2. Go to Visualization module> Plug-ins> Tools> Excel utilities and transfer XY data directly to the excel file.

you should "ask" from the history or field output the variable that you want to check or to make a diagram.

The analysis time step is responsible for the quality of the analysis and it's results. However if the time step is ok you should choose the interval on the history or field output window. To explain this better if you choose in the Frequency: Evenly spaced time intervals and you put Interval:500, then your data and diagramms will be designed from 500 points.

if you are looking to export xy data from Abaqus to excel:

Go to Visualization then to create XY data -> ODB history output -> chose the variable -> save as -> go to Plug-ins -> Tools -> Excel utilities -> from abaqus to cae -> ok.
