Hi. I ahve simulated a drop flowing in a channel using level set method in COMSOL. Now I am interested to extract data of droplet shape (morphology) at different locations. How can I extraxt it?. Thanks.
I succeded yesterday in exporting as a numerical data in the form of x and y columns. But after ploting the data in the Matllab, there are connecting lines inside the drop. I do not know why?. How to remove them?. do you have some idea?
Another thing is, I am interested in exporting not only the drop shape but also the geometry with x,y-axis where it was first drawn. How can I do it?. thanks.
To extract the droplet shape (morphology) at different locations in your simulation using COMSOL, you can follow these steps:
First, make sure that you have saved the simulation results in COMSOL in the format you need to extract the data.
Open the "Results" tab in COMSOL, and select the "1D Plot Group" option from the "Graphics" menu.
In the "1D Plot Group" window, click the "Add" button to create a new plot.
In the "Data Sets" tab, select the data set that you want to plot, which should contain the droplet morphology data.
In the "Expressions" tab, select the "Level Set" option under the "Geometry" category.
In the "Level Set" window, choose the level set function that corresponds to the droplet shape.
In the "Location" tab, select the position(s) where you want to extract the droplet morphology data.
Click the "Plot" button to generate the plot.
You can now use the "Export" button to save the plot data to a file, which you can then analyze or process further.
Note that the specific steps may vary depending on the details of your simulation and the version of COMSOL you are using. However, the general approach should be similar, and you may be able to find additional guidance in the COMSOL documentation or user forums.
Thank you Ahmed M.Hassan . I am using currently version 4.3a. I cannot follow you from step 3. I cannot find "Add" in the "1D plot group" Which version do you have?.
