If a XRD pattern has weak reflections or satellites possibly arising from commensurate/incommensurate modulation, how to refine the same using Fullprof software
As far as I understand this topic it would surprize me if fullprof can do this since in case it is an incommensurate phase you do not have a 3-dimensional periodical structure. If I remember correctly, incommensurate structures are periodic in 4 dimensions like quasicrystals where you need at least 5 dimensions. The mathematical methods are in fact "identical" but since all these software packages are programmed for a periodicity in 3D they cannot work. Of course, you can neglect the small sattelites but then you need to ask yourself what does the refinement still tells you?

If you work with modulated structures, Fullprof is not the software you want to use. Probably at the moment the best program for these kind of structures is JANA. You can find it here: http://jana.fzu.cz/
