Quenching of fluorescence of a photoexcited molecule can happen in many ways. My focus is when a fluorophore, in contact with another acceptor molecule and phenomena like electron transfer (PET) and/or energy transfer (FRET) play the role for the quenching, then how can we able to differentiate between the two processes? I am curious to know which process between the two of them is playing the role for quenching, how we will I come to know?
