I second Rai in the sustainable supply chain concept.
Information sharing from the customer back to the first player of the value chain can decrease the wastes significantly. There is a competition between suppliers at the different levels of the supply chain, and sometimes they are focusing o attributes what are valueless for the customer instead of the significant ones. It can result in over-packaging or attributes cause more substantial environmental burden and not valued by anybody in the value chain.
The expected and valued credence attribute should be applied across the supply chain to generate value and higher margins. Also, the information has to flow toward the final user to realize the benefits of the sustainable production.
