How can I determine the CFU/mL or CFU/g of entomopathogenic fungi if the entire Petri plate is overgrown with fungi? Is it appropriate to use a colony counter in such cases?
Phil Geis Yes, it's a mycelial fungus. So I’ll be using a hemocytometer to calculate the spore concentration in terms of spores/ml. However, I was wondering—are there any established techniques or processes through which CFU (colony-forming units) can still be determined for such fungi? Thank you so much for your helpful response!
