I am currently working on the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the biocomposite specimen.
I want to validate the FEA results with analytical formula or any relevant theory supporting the biocomposite failure.
Specifically, I am interested in calculation of the 'FAILURE INDEX'.

Be careful here. Bio fibres don't necessarily behave the same as classical materials which may invalidate many failure theories. Carbon fibres are typically brittle but a bio fibre can behave almost like an elastomer with a very non-linear stress-strain curve. Another comment is that I was talking to one of the standard failure theory authors some time ago and they said the worst mistake they used was to work with failure index. Margin of safety or strength ratio is easier to interprete so this is really what an engineer wants.
