Hi Ioannis, I have used AFM to obtain information regarding the surface morphology of my irradiated area. But now I am figuring out which equation or method to determine the ablation threshold (J/cm^2) of Au thin film.

try IS (or simple) DC resistivity using 4-contacts (with Au or Ag paint) cited on a circle of a diameter D. D is only some (say 1 or 2) mm higher than L ( = diameter of your irradiation beam).
