Hi everyone,

My oligo recently synthesized from IDT DNA to be used for qPCR standards contains following information:

Amount of oligo : 4 nmole (the sheet doesn't provide the amount in mg)

Molecular weight (M.W.) 36,351.6

Length of base: 117 bp

My question is, can we determine copy number given the nanomole and molecular weight? Can I simply use the following formula:

Number of copies=(ng×[6.022×10^23]) / (length ×[1×10^9]×650)

Subsequently, how do I get the copy numbers in copies/ul?

I will be using this stock for serial dilution to make a standard curve. There's a lot of suggestions in the web, and I am confused which formula or correct way to calculate the copy number. Many thanks.
