I am modelling a RC beam strengthened in flexure and shear by FRP composite sheet. I am using SOLID 185 layered element to define the each layer of FRP composite.The orientation of FRP composite is unidirectional. I want to know how I can define the local coordinate system for the FRP composite such that during the fexural analysis of beam. The orientation of the FRP composite is parallel to the beam x-axis or length of the beam.
And during the shear analysis FRP composite is perpendicular to the length of the beam. For the shear strengthening I am using U wrap at the supports of the beam.
I want to know the commands for the same. If someone have scripts or any other way of modeling the FRP composite sheets that will be helpful.

I am doing it by taking the local coordinate system using LOCAL command but I am getting the convergence problem. The analysis is not converging during the non linear analysis.
By using the following command i.e. LOCAL,20,0,x,y,z
For every layer your local co-ordinate number should be different i.e. 20, 21, 22 etc.
You can do it by using utility menu also i.e. workplane> local co-ordinate system> creat local co-ordinate system> by any of the option
There you have to assign a KCN value i.e. generally in 2 digit no..
Then you have activate the new local co-ordinate system by following: utility menu>workplane> change active CS to> specified co-ordinate system. Here you have to put the KCN value.
