In a conjugate heat transfer problem, I need to define a coupled wall between solid wall and fluid. I made an interface between them. Two walls were created e.g. x-wall, x-wall-shadow, and additionally, another two walls were also created like x-y-nonoverlapping. I can't assign coupled boundary condition in thermal tab to the non-overlapping zone walls. Zero Heat flux is assigned to them by default. But the x-wall and x-wall shadow can be assigned as coupled wall. But this seems to be same walls are having different b.c e.g. coupled and zero heat flux is assigned to same wall. Will it create any problem in my solution and result? How to get rid of this problem? How to define coupled wall, interface without creating non-overlapping zone?

You shouldn't name it "interface". Please do not select any name for it. Define the wall as a solid domain in "Cell zone condition". By default, Fluent software assumes its common boundaries as coupled walls. Then if you go to the boundary condition, you will find the "thermal condition" for them selected as "coupled" by default.

Mojtaba Bezaatpour hello sir, i'm facing the same problem, i did what you suggested but in the boundary conditions those interfaces are shown as walls for exemple i have 2 interfaces it gives me just 3 walls without their shadows, one of does wall is called or named wall-Water, for its material i use the material of the adjecent surface.
and when RUNING THE SIMULATION THE ENERGY RESIDUAL STARTS FROM 10e-16.
and at the end the profile of temperature doesnt change along the pipe and along the other materials
Thanks, Mojtaba Bezaatpour . I followed the procedure and it worked. I also needed to make the two bodies in a single part opening the DM. The model was created in SolidWorks.
Abderrahman Mellalou Did you make the all bodies in a single part? What CAD software did you use?
Md Ajwad Mohimin I use solidworks too, it's a simple 2D model of water flowing inside a pipe covered with insulation, i've gathered all parts in one, after going going to the setup i dont get the interfaces i just get simple walls lik this (wall-water, wall-pipe1, wall-pipe2, wall insulation1, wall-Insulation2. when rusing the simulation alwyas the energy residial starts from 10e-16 which is false.

Okay. I am sharing the process that I applied. I modeled with SolidWorks, then export it as Parasolid format(.x_t). Then I imported the geometry in workbench and opened with Design Modeler, generated the external cad file. Here I got two parts. Fluent sometimes does trouble. So I selected the two parts and right click>form a new part. A new part was created and two bodies were in the same part. Then I open ansys mesher, named the inlet, outlet, the walls, and I named the two bodies also(water and solid). I didn't give any name to the contact walls, and also deleted all the contacts that ansys mesher automatically made. Then I opened it on the fluent and made energy equation on, changed the cell zone appropriately, and the contact wall and the shadow were automatically created. I hope this will help. Md Ajwad Mohimin i did the same thing but it dosent generate those contact walls as walls and their shadows, can i share my geometry with u and you can try it in ur fluent and see what happens??
