What surfactant should be appropriate for BiFEWO6 nanoparticles synthesis and size control? the general rule for selection and BiFeWO6 centred both answers are welcomed.
Surfactants can have different functions in the synthesis of nanoparticles. Usually, they can be capping and stabilizing agents, sometimes a reducing agent and they also can make a templating effect.
The amount of surfactant should depend on the type of dispersion to have during the particle formation and growth, but usually a light excess in respect to the precursor materials is recommended.
For instance, 10 mol equivalents of surfactant as capping agent in respect to the nanoparticle precursor might be convenient in the reaction.
